2012 Club Championships enters Semifinal Rounds

In a stunning victory over the #1 seeded Gentlemen's Doubles team of Tom Koshelowsky & Neil Mactaggart, Rob Keenan & Kit Spencer proved once again that sometimes age and trickery wins over youth, power and speed.
Neil & Tom cruised to an easy 6-2 win in the first set and led 4-2 in the second. At this point Kit & Rob found their stride and began getting a few more balls back to win the next 4 games and hence the second set. As the two teams regrouped for the third set, many of the spectators used the time to refresh their drinks and settled in for a battle for the final set. It proved not to be ... the #1 seeds could not right themselves, as spectators sat in stunned silence while team Kit/Rob continued their dominance with brilliant reflex volleys at the net to run up a 5-0 lead before Tom & Neil could finally regain their consistent play of the first set.
Kit & Rob's lead proved to be insurmountable as they closed the third set with a 6-2 win to advance to the Gentlemen's Doubles finals to take place this weekend. They await the result of the other semifinals between Bob Martyn & Sean Moree against Mas Kimball & Jeff Wilson to be played during Tuesday Club Night.
